My way of life is under attack.

My way of life is under attack.

The war on cargo pants has been going on for seasons now.

Cargo pants have technially been out of style for a while now, but I have only been concious of this when I came across this last year:

It was then I grew very concerned about the future of cargo wear.

And now the day I have feared for months has come.

Target does not carry cargo khakis anymore in their new line of men’s pantswear. Khols, once the bastion of cargo apparel, only had two shades of brown (the light tan and the ugly tan-green). They don’t even have the tiny but innovative accessory/key/change pockets that I have grown to love.

This is a wake up call.

The cargo pant/short has been the cornerstone of my wardrobe (along with the worn sweatshirt/hoodie and Adidas Samba trainers) since I was twelve. This is who I am.

I enjoy my corduroys and modern smart-fitting jeans. But I need my khaki cargos for the fall and winter. And spring. And summer. I refuse to settle with two pockets alone. I refuse.

Damn you, Kanye.
