Brostep.

White folk can’t dance.

Therefore, they can dance to anything. Correction: They can’t dance to anything.

They stomp, they jig, they writhe, girls in bikins “twerk” terribly with the asses they simply do not have, they jump, they punch, they twirl- themselves as well as massive glowsticks and balls on string (the dumbest thing ever, please get the fuck off the dancefloor), they hula-hoop (I swear I saw someone using a skip-it), they rub their dicks on asses like dogs…and they all manage to do this perfectly off-beat.

With all that movement, you would hope that they would fall on at least one downbeat. Even by accident. But no. They just move- to move.

I go to a “dance music” show, and you just can’t dance.

Pure noise. Three “DJ’s” on the stage with three laptops and gadgets they don’t know how to use. The only thing they are required to do is mix songs. So of course they can’t.

So while two noisy, shitty excuses for “dubstep-dance-electronic” music tracks are playing at the same time, at different tempos and keys, I still see the crowd of white folk still “dancing”.

Me and my man stopped grooving a long time ago; we were done trying. Just stood up, and looked across the dance floor in awe. These shitty DJs failed to mix tracks- for sixteen full bars. And it seemed like the entire club didn’t notice.

This is when you and your friends swear to never go to that particular venue again.

Went to a Flosstradamus show, but Flosstradamus cancelled. Luckily Tactic, the cats touring with Flosstradamus, made it out and saved the night.

Lincoln, Nebraska’s electronic music scene is trash. Saw too much of it last year. Never again.

Flocka x Borgore

Just now learning dubstep’s original ties to dub reggae.

I was always frustrated with thedubstep I listen to, that misses thedub.

Checked “Dubstep” wikipedia page for once. Now I’ve found what I’ve been missing. Modern dub plates. Shit is excellent. It’s not post-dubstep, as they say.

I love the mid-range, agressive dubstep, for sure. But as long as its still driven by a good bassline and rhythm. I hate it when music loses its rooting. Probably why I love Sukh Knight so much- he can make those mid-rage, post dubstep era joints, but still have that wonderful bass rooting. For sure.

So nah. Not into brostep. Aggression for the sake of aggression. Much like American metal music, as wikipedia points out. But Flux, Borgore, a good amount of these guys in this post-dubstep era still have a solid bassline in mind. So I enjoy them.

Don’t like Skrillex, don’t like the idea of him. Find him a prick. I always have a sour spot for Americanized, after Britishized Jamaican music- like what America did to Blue Note Ska, and what Blue Note Ska did to Ska. Punk was introduced, then it turned to shit. Then American pop/rock was introduced, then shit turned to shit. Of course there are exceptions, don’t get at me. But I don’t dig the West’s reverse digestion of Jamaican music, for sure.

Noisia - Machine Gun (16Bit Remix)

haven’t posted any dubstep in months. one of my favorites.

collabprojekt:

Nero releases visuals for their upcoming single and track in Welcome Reality, Reaching Out. Weird video of 90’s Miami clips? Definitely an interesting take on what visuals for this track would be, definitely has tons of smoking babes, but overall not a very interesting video. Kinda weird for Nero.

Eddie (The Packman)

Title: E621 Artist: Exponaut 29 plays

yablondon:

Quite an old track but just got its official release today under Circus Records. This is Exponaut’s track E621.

E621 also known as Monosodium Glutamate is used in foodstuffs as a flavour enhancer. This track definitely enhances the environment without a doubt and I absolutely love it.

However it does sound a lot like a track Dubstep producer Dream would make. Even though he recognises that, he still likes the track. So what you do think?
